چکیده
Aims Considering the etiology of hypermobility syndrome that is involvement of connective tissue as a result of a disruption in the synthesis of collagen, there is a possibility of other organs involvement such as urinary system which the structure of connective tissue plays an important role. The aim of this study was to determine the association of hypermobility syndrome with vesico-ureteric reflux in children.

Relationship of generalized joint hypermobility with vesicoureteral reflux and urinary tract infection.
INTRODUCTION Generalized joint hypermobility is deemed to be an underlying risk factor for many clinical conditions. The goal of this study was to determine the prevalence of generalized joint hypermobility in patients with vesicoureteral reflux. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a cross-sectional study on 313 children, 3 to 15 years old, with a history of urinary tract infection. Generalized jo...

متن کاملVesico-ureteric reflux and urinary tract development in the Pax2 1Neu+/- mouse.
Vesico-ureteric reflux (VUR) is a urinary tract abnormality that affects roughly one-third of patients with renal-coloboma syndrome, an autosomal dominant condition caused by a mutation in PAX2. Here, we report that a mouse model with an identical mutation, the Pax2 1Neu+/- mouse, has a 30% incidence of VUR. In VUR, urine flows retrogradely from the bladder to the ureter and is associated with ...

SUBJECTIVES Prevalence of benign joint hypermobility syndrome (BJHMS) without systemic disease seems to be high in children. Little literature is currently available related to urinary tract diseases in patients with BJHMS. Here, we report an association between the urinary tract disease and BJHMS. METHODS We conducted a prospective case series study of 62 pediatric patients with musculoskele...
